We are a general contracting and construction firm based in Virginia Beach. We specialize in construction management, design-build, general contracting, pre-construction, and PPEA services to an extensive list of clients throughout Virginia and North Carolina.

ROSS D. VIERRA
CEO / President
A graduate of Virginia Tech, Ross served as an Officer in the US Navy for close to a decade before entering the private sector. In 2012, Ross was named one of the Top 40 Under 40 in Hampton Roads by Inside Business. He hold a Masters Degree in Business, a Class A Virginia Contractor’s License and a Virginia Real Estate License. Ross is very active in the community, serving as the chairman of the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation, a member with the Virginia Beach Jaycee’s, Friends Committee for the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, member of the Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business Owners Council, past board member of Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads and Past Chair of the Urban Land Institute of Hampton Roads.
JOSH C. CANADA
Partner / Vice President
Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Josh has a business degree from James Madison University. In addition to Axis Global Enterprises, Josh is a partner in Canada and Associates Political Fundraising, whose clients include George Allen and Ken Cuccinelli, and he is co-owner of Back Bay Brewing Company in Virginia Beach and Wolfe Street Brewing Co. in Harrisonburg. Josh is a founding board member and current treasurer of the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation and a board member of Helping Orphans Latin America (HOLA).
ERIN R. HOLLAND
VP of Marketing and Business Development
Born in Washington, DC and raised in North Carolina, Erin is a resident of Virginia Beach, VA. She graduated with honors from Old Dominion University and holds degrees in both Fine Arts and Social Sciences, and will soon complete her MA in Visual Studies and Humanities. Erin brings several years of diverse marketing, graphic design and business development experience to her position at Axis, giving her a well-rounded and unique perspective that has proven instrumental for our business! Through Axis, Erin is an active member of HR ACRE, the VBHA, Hampton Roads IREM and the Chamber of Commerce, while simultaneously serving on multiple special events committees for CHKD and volunteering with the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation.
JOHN W. SCHMIED
Construction Division | Superintendent / Project Manager / QCM / SSHO
John began his career in the construction industry in 1987. For the past 29 years, he has served in multiple roles, including CQM, Superintendent, Project Manager, Estimator, Foreman, Assistant Project Manager, Lead Mason and more, all of which give him immense hands-on knowledge into the industry and make him a true asset to our company. John has successfully managed and completed residential, commercial, government and industrial construction projects and holds several certifications, including OSHA 30 Hour, SSHO 40 Hour, Virginia Class A certification and has been a certified USACE Construction Quality Control Manager for more than 20 years.
BRIAN W. KOKIE
Construction Division | Superintendent
As Superintendent for Axis Global Enterprises, Brian is responsible for the coordination of all field activities on the construction site, including worker health and safety. With more than 20 years of experience as Superintendent, Foreman, Estimator, Project Manager and Construction company owner, Brian brings incredible knowledge, experience and expertise to our team.

As a Superintendent for our construction division, George delivers innovative solutions that support sustainable growth and progressive general contracting. With 33+ years of in-depth construction and development experience in Virginia Beach, George brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Axis, and has been the recipient of several awards, including the City of Virginia Beach Minority Business Councils Outstanding Services Award, the Key to the City, and the Hampton Roads PR award for Crisis Management. George also serves as the GM for ECSC and is Site Director for the Patriotic Festival.
Construction Division | Project Manager
Lloyd has more than 15 years of experience in general construction, has LEED awareness training and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and under budget. He holds a BS in Engineering Technology from Virginia State University, is OSHA 30 certified, USACE CQM for Contractors certification, ECATTS certified, ASHE Healthcare Construction certified and has Infinity Structural System training.
Security Division | Outer Banks Vice President
Born and raised in New York, Chris graduated with honors from SUNY Birmingham School of Management with a degree in Accounting. With experience ranging from Analyst and Auditor to Control and Compliance, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to his role with the security division of Axis Global Enterprises. Since 2011, Chris has played an instrumental role with ASI Security, developing efficient business practices and working one-on-one with clients to ensure total satisfaction. Chris also serves as executive committee member and treasurer for the Peninsula District of Associated General Contractors.
Security Division | Sr. Project Manager
As the Senior Project Manager for the security division of Axis Global Enterprises, Dale brings 40+ years of knowledge and experience to the table. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and has mastered additional Technical, Business and Accounting courses. Dale previously owned and operated a successful Detention Equipment Contracting and Fabricating company, worked as Electro-Mechanical Specialist for Assa Abloy in Virginia and Maryland, and filled numerous roles for a variety of firms, all of which make him a true asset to the company.
Security Division | Senior Security Estimator
Lou brings more than 30 years of experience to his role as Senior Security Estimator for Axis Global Enterprises' security division, ASI Security. His in-depth experience includes 20 years as a Navy SEAL and EOD-Master Bomb Tech and 20 + years designing, estimating and installing security alarm systems, fire alarm systems and special hazard systems for Government, Industrial and Commercial clients in Hampton Roads, Virginia and beyond. Lou is fully certified in all security systems we carry and holds a NICET Level 4 certification in Fire Alarms and NICET Level 1 in Special Hazard - Protection Engineering Technology.
Security Division | Vice President of Capture Management
For more than 28 years, Jeff has worked with the most at-risk customers, solving their security and communications problems worldwide. His in-depth insight and experience is credited to his work with the industry’s leading companies, including Honeywell, TYCO, GE, FLIR, Michael Baker, and more, through which he provided security solutions for government and commercial customers. Having worked for the industry’s largest manufacturer, distributor, and integrator, Jeff has a keen understanding of the supply process from design to installation. Jeff has provided solutions to The White House, U.S. Capitol, The Pentagon, Smithsonian Complex, Statue of Liberty, DC Metro, GSA, DoE, DHS, DoD bases and United States Embassies worldwide.
Security Division | Network Engineer
Rob has 15 + years of hands-on experience developing and managing a multitude of information systems. He holds a degree in Computer and Information Science from ECPI and Applied Science from Community College of the Air Force. He carries an array of technical certifications, has mastered several training courses in the field of IT, and has a proven track record of increasing responsibility in telecommunication system design, analysis/development, and full lifecycle project management.
